Last week was a busy one for the Bluejays.
USJ softball played eight games last week, finishing with a record of 4-4 for the week. A notable win was against Dean College, with the Bluejays winning 9-1 in six innings. Another big win was a walk off 8-7 victory against Emmanuel after having a two hour rain delay in the sixth inning. USJ softball is now 16-15 this year.
Next up is men’s lacrosse. The men’s team only had one game this week at St. Joseph’s Maine College. Despite battling hard, the Bluejays lost in overtime 16-15. The team hopes to battle back against Johnson and Wales here at USJ. USJ men’s lacrosse is now 6-8 this season.
Women’s lacrosse also had a big week, going 2-0. They beat Dean 15-7 at the Bulldog’s home turf, and then had a huge win on Senior Day against Colby Sawyer, winning 13-9. The women are now 9-5 on the year.
Men’s tennis had two matches last week. Despite battling hard, both matches resulted in defeat. Their first loss was to Farmingdale State, and the second was to Colby Sawyer here at USJ. Despite the losses, the men are still 8-8 on the year, and are looking to bounce back against Hunter College.
Women’s tennis had their last match of the year and ended their season on a high note, defeating Gordon at USJ in a close 5-4 match. The women end the year with a 4-8 record.
Lastly, we have USJ baseball. USJ baseball lost a close game to Post, but had a strong showing against both Columbia-Greene Community College and Western Connecticut State University. The Bluejays defeated the Columbia-Greene 12-11, and obliterated WestConn 14-2.
