Do You Know You Have Rights?

Written by Gabrielle Bernabe

The constitution says you do.

That is the SGA constitution of course! Understanding the rights that you have and what you can impact during your time here at the University of Saint Joseph is something that everyone should have access to. Within the next few weeks the next election cycle will open up, meaning you get to choose your representatives for the fall semester.

As in all elections, learning about the candidates that you vote for is important. Learn why they want to be a part of this organization here at USJ and how their impact will better help improve your time here.

Do you want to take matters into your own hands? There’s a few ways to do so:

  1.  Being a part of SGA is a worthwhile experience that will help in giving the experience that you want to see on campus
  2. Actually filling out the suggestion box with the things that you want to see here. New ideas, inspiration, or just something that you’d maybe like to see happen. These suggestion boxes get read every meeting and are a vital way to know what the student body is thinking.

All in all, the experience you have here in USJ is what you make it. Knowing how to make it better for yourself is key.
